The Bruce

This is King Robert the Bruce, during the Scottish Wars of Independence - specifically the Battle of Bannockburn of 1314.

Figures are from the 'Scotland Forever' set by Valdemar Miniatures.

Background image is not Scotland, as residents of Stirling and Falkirk will attest, but rather Sebastiao Salgado's image of Alaska.

The Amazon and the White Stag

Ghâsh Olog

The Dark Lord also bred specialist trolls. Here we see an example of the Ghâsh-Olog, the fire troll. I played around a lot with this model, using some MiG pigments and effects, it was fun and I learned some useful techniques! Figures are Dark Alliance 1/72 War Trolls. Credit for the backdrop - the sculpture 'striking likeness' by David Mach.

The Tudors meet Vincent

The last of the Tudors below. These 1/72 Linear-b figures paint up really well. As you can see I have borrowed a backdrop from Vincent Van Gogh - The old church tower at Nuenen. I also employed a fair bit of Photoshop, in particular using the healing brush tool to change the bases into shadows for the latter few images. The jury is out on that effect, let me know what you think.

What is best in life Conan?

Dark Alliance Cimmerians. A Conan style band of barbaric warriors. I have only painted up the first three, but these guys are worth taking a bit of time over. Needs a bit of base work though.
